You’re only partially correct. I’m an HSR advocate and would like to see HSR in Ohio, but the Governor Kasich was correct to cancel THAT poorly chosen project featuring 79 mph top speed trains that would average 49 mph based on track conditions and number of stops. The prior Ohio Governor’s mistake was to not submit a USDOT funding application to upgrade Amtrak’s current Cleveland to Toledo route to 2-3 track 110 mph service.
